Artella News

Want to WORK for Artella?

If you're interested in becoming part of the amazing Artella Team read this forum post to get more details. We're rolling out some exciting new features in the coming months and would love to bring a few more wonderful, creative souls on board!

Welcome to the Artella Cafe!

NEW! We have added a "Quick Links" Menu for all our current Creativity Contests...see the right-hand sidebar on this page!

If you are new to the Cafe, allow us to show you around!  The Cafe has four parts:

  • Forums - Dozens of forums on tons of topics for creative folks!  Make new friends, and make yourself at home!  Once you have joined the Cafe (it's as easy as entering a username and password), simply click the "Forums" link at the top of the page, and then click a Discussion topic to start reading the discussions.  Click "Reply" to reply to a post.  There are detailed FAQs and Tips for all the special features in the Forums in the first Discussion at the top of the Forum page.

  • Blogs - Our Cafe blogs are fabulous online journals by people in the Artella community.  Any Cafe Member can post comments on anyone's blog to respond to posts.  And if you'd like your own blog, all paid Artella Members get a complete feature-packed blog completely FREE, no strings attached, even for those who join at the $3/month Standard Membership Level. Click here for Membership details. If you are already a Member, login to the Member Ship LinkLobby to get instructions on how to sign up for your blog.

  • Art Galleries - Here's where you can see artwork and other fun images from the Artella Community.  Now, all $6 Deluxe Memberships get their blog and a complete personal Art Gallery FREE along with all the other included benefits.  You can even show your art in a slideshow format! Click here for Membership details. If you are already a Member, login to the Member Ship LinkLobby to get instructions on how to sign up for your personal art gallery.

  • Downloads - Grab FREE goodies for Artella Cafe Members in your inspiring Downloading Headquarters.  More to come in this section, soon!
So...The first step to participate in any of the four areas is to join the Cafe by clicking the JOIN link on the upper right corner of this page.  Then login and create your new profile!

Besides the friends you'll meet and the inspiration you'll glean, there's another reason to get involved at the Artella Cafe.  Cafe Points are points you receive automatically for participating in the forums.  In turn, Artella gives out valuable prizes and rewards for the points you earn.  While the exact points earned for different factors are in a closely guarded, confidential, top secret, classified chest made out of sacred Koa wood on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean, we are allowed to give the following hints and guidelines to acquiring points you can use to receive all the many prizes and rewards:

  1. Posting frequently certainly gets rewarded very well, but posting thoughtfully gets rewarded even more

  2. Follow the Golden Rule of Artella Land.  Treat others the very best way you would like to be treated yourself.

  3. Care for the community and you will be cared for in return.
So pull up a chair...and a tasty Artella Cafe beverage...get comfortable, and stay a while!

  • Re: Why do you like to enter Artella contests?

I entered my first art-type contest about a year ago, and the person shepherding the contest emailed me just one sentence: "Is that it?" I wrote back, "Yes." I'd spent more than half a day figuring out how to dump the unaltered photo digitally into the same place I'd written a poem. It wasn't entered in the contest. I...
